FAQs.

Do you offer a warranty on your work?2026-03-31T16:47:50+01:00

Absolutely. We take immense pride in our craftsmanship, and we stand behind it. Every Morgan & Smith project comes with a comprehensive structural warranty. For our larger builds and new homes, we provide a 10-year structural insurance policy (such as an NHBC or similar premium warranty). For renovations and bespoke improvements, we provide a dedicated workmanship guarantee, ensuring that your investment is protected long after we’ve handed over the keys.

Will I need to move out during a major renovation?2026-03-31T16:47:40+01:00

This depends on the scale and “surgical” nature of the work. For loft conversions and many extensions, we can often isolate the construction zone with professional dust-screening and external access, allowing you to stay in your home. However, for a full-house renovation involving major structural “knock-throughs” or the removal of essential services (like water and heating), we usually recommend moving out for a few weeks to ensure your comfort and safety. We’ll discuss this timeline with you in detail during the planning phase.

Do I need to have architectural plans ready before contacting you?2026-03-31T16:47:32+01:00

Not at all. In fact, many of our most successful projects start with nothing more than a “wish list” and a few inspiration photos. Because we offer a Design & Build service, we can handle the architectural drawings, structural calculations and planning applications for you. Starting with us early ensures that your plans are “buildable” and stay within your target budget from day one.

How do you handle project estimates?2026-03-31T16:47:19+01:00

We provide a Transparent, Fixed-Price Quotation once the technical specifications and material choices are finalised. In the early stages, we can provide a high-level feasibility estimate based on current 2026 material and labour costs to ensure your dreams align with your budget. We hate “hidden extras” as much as you do, so our final quotes are detailed, line-by-line breakdowns of exactly where your investment is going.

What is the first step in starting a renovation with Morgan and Smith?2026-03-31T16:47:10+01:00

The first step is a Consultation & Site Audit. We don’t believe in “guesstimating” over the phone. We’ll visit your property to walk through your vision, assess the structural “DNA” of the building, and discuss your lifestyle goals. This allows us to provide professional advice on what is architecturally possible and financially viable before you spend a penny on formal designs.
